Sinners

SINNERS is an adult dark fantasy set in a far-future wasteland where a divine empire rises from the bones of fallen angels. It combines the savior-and-sinner dynamic of THE KNIGHT AND THE MOTH by Rachel Gillig with the crisis of faith and epic journey of STAR MOTHER by Charlie N. Holmberg.

In a desert empire built atop the ruins of the American West, humanity survives by worshipping the Angels who destroyed the old world.

Allyra has spent her life serving the Sun God as a priestess. Albino and chronically weakened by the brutal desert climate, she was never meant to survive outside the empire’s holy walls, let alone question the divine order that keeps humanity alive. But then she is kidnapped by a band of exiled Sinners and their leader, Sirius, a hardened Angel hunter who survives by harvesting the bones of fallen celestial beings for weapons. He intends to use her as a bargaining chip against the orthodoxy, but when an Angel attacks, both Allyra and Sirius’ secrets come to light.

The Angels are not guardians. They are harvesters. And within Allyra stirs an impossible power tied to the forgotten rival of the Sun God: the Night Goddess, who after centuries of the Sun God’s oppression, is on the verge of death.

Sirius concocts a plan. If Allyra’s power can be harnessed to save the Night Goddess, then perhaps balance can be restored to this world scorched by endless daylight. But Allyra’s faith is shaken, and she is being hunted by the most powerful man in the empire.
